ICC Belfast shortlisted in Digital Event Awards
Shortlisted in Best Venue offering Digital Event Facilities
ICC Belfast has been shortlisted in the Best Venue offering Digital Event Facilities category at the Digital Event Awards 2021
Recognising excellence in the production and delivery of digital events, the inaugural Digital Event Awards span a range of categories from Best Digital Exhibition to Best Technology Platform. In the Best Venue offering Digital Event Facilities category, judges are looking for the venue that has created the most impressive facilities for hybrid event purposes. Investment in studio and stage as well as technical production are important alongside case studies demonstrating client satisfaction and effectiveness.
ICC Belfast pivoted to virtual solutions last year in response to COVID-19 and in June 2020, the team delivered their first post pandemic hybrid event on behalf of NI Chamber. They’ve since gone on to host product launches, conferences and award ceremonies. As the demand for digital events has grown, so too has their ambitions. ICC Belfast’s sister entertainment brands, the Waterfront Hall and Ulster Hall represent two of Belfast’s most iconic entertainment venues. A successful application to the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s Organisation Emergency Programme led to the launch of ‘Live from the Ulster Hall’ in December 2020, catapulting a 158-year-old concert hall into a new era of streaming and on-demand content. This project created an affordable route to market for the local arts industry, providing homegrown talent the opportunity to engage their audiences via digital platforms.
Oonagh O’Reilly, Director of Sales and Marketing at ICC Belfast | Waterfront Hall | Ulster Hall commented, “It’s hard to believe that it has been almost one year since we delivered a large-scale, in-person event."
Despite the challenges faced, our commitment to business preparedness has been unwavering and we’re delighted to have been shortlisted in the Digital Event Awards.
"The learnings we gained from ICC Belfast’s pivot to virtual solutions was invaluable and provided a solid foundation from which developments could be made that are tailored to our entertainment offering. Hybrid is here to stay, and these advancements will undoubtedly benefit us long after we safely return to live events.”
The winners will be announced at a virtual ceremony on 18 March 2021.
