ICC Belfast shortlisted in Digital Event Awards 2022
ICC Belfast has been shortlisted in the Best Venue offering Digital/Hybrid Event Facilities category at the 2022 Digital Event Awards.
These awards, which were first held in March 2021 to recognise the sheer size and scale of developments that event organisers have adopted and their subsequent excellence in digital events, are back for a second year. A wealth of categories covered the different types of digital events we have experienced along with skill-based categories and a selection for the suppliers behind the technology.
With large-scale hybrid conferences set to become the norm, ICC Belfast accelerated their technological development plans and ensured the team were ‘match-fit’ and ready to exceed client expectations by creating opportunities to further hone their hybrid event skills and apply the theoretical knowledge acquired through comprehensive training.
The Virtual Delegate was one such example of this. This was a six-part digital series that ICC Belfast partnered with international keynote speaker David Meade on during June and July 2021. The Virtual Delegate took a deep dive into how organisations can maximise virtual, hybrid and in-person events to engage their people and clients. Borne from a need for great engagement at a time when meeting in person was more difficult than ever, the series created a platform on which the business events industry could come together and respond to the universal challenges faced and look towards the future with ambition and energy.
Events that followed, such as the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT) Annual Congress that was held in September 2021 have been a resounding success. This was the first fully hybrid large-scale event to be held at the venue featuring over 150 remote presenters and over 20 remote sessions.
Commenting on the shortlist announcement, Julia Corkey, ICC Belfast | Waterfront Hall | Ulster Hall Chief Executive said:
We are delighted to have been shortlisted for a second year in the Digital Event Awards alongside some of the most innovative venues in the industry. The investment that we have made in our hybrid offering has exponentially increased the interactivity of conferences. This means that whether delegates are attending virtually or in person, they have a world-class experience that is truly unique to Belfast and Northern Ireland.”
The winners will be crowned at a hybrid event on 31 March 2022 at Hilton London Bankside. Click here to find out more.
