ICC Belfast shortlisted in 2021 Event Technology Awards
2021 Event Technology Awards
ICC Belfast has been shortlisted in the most innovative and tech-friendly venue category at the Event Technology Awards due to the swift action taken by the team to focus on innovative solutions that deliver impressive results.
Now in their ninth year, the Event Technology Awards recognise the achievements of companies delivering digital and technological solutions to the events industry. Among the key industry players shortlisted, ICC Belfast was named due the unique technical infrastructure it boasts that was recently expanded to ensure the convention centre's long-term sustainability.
Following the launch of a dedicated Hybrid Studio in June 2020, ICC Belfast and sister venues Waterfront Hall and Ulster Hall have gone on to host over 30 broadcast conferences, product launches and award ceremonies. Significant investment was made in hardware and software and all three venues are now equipped with state-of-the-art technology including,
Northern Ireland's largest stock of Absen LED wall and 4K PTZ cameras in every meeting space.
The demand for digital event solutions has grown exponentially over the past year. This demand spurred the team to devise and implement innovative solutions such as 'Live from the Ulster Hall' which launched in December 2020. Funded by the Arts Council NI’s Organisation Emergency Programme, this project catapulted a a 158-year-old concert hall into a new era of streaming and on-demand content and brought the uplifting impact of the arts directly to audiences' homes throughout the festive season.
The digital and technological advances have greatly benefitted ICC Belfast's conferencing clients too, allowing a seamless transition to hybrid and virtual. Nicky McGrane, CEO of Conference Partners International worked with the ICC Belfast team to launch the 2023 One Young World Summit earlier this year and was delighted with the guidance received saying,
Working with ICC Belfast has been a pleasure. It’s not about the studio; it’s about the people behind the studio and the team in ICC Belfast is what attracts me to using this studio. It's their technical capabilities, the equipment, the people behind the scenes, how you're taken care of, how you're guided and led through the process of creating a very professional, hybrid, in studio event so 100% I would recommend ICC Belfast for this type of work.
