London Calling! ICC Belfast attend multiple industry events in capital

Posted 24th Jun, 2022

London Calling

ICC Belfast is up for three industry awards – including sustainability and best venue award.

Representatives will be in London this week attending The Meetings Show, the Micebook V Awards 2022 and the Conference and Events Awards 2022 as the events industry continues to gather momentum.

These past few months we have hosted events for prestigious organisations such as the Microbiology Society, IATEFL, and IAPCO, as well as partnered with other local organisations such as Triterra, and government departments such as the Department for Communities to deliver the All-Ireland Sustainability and Harkin Summits – with the remainder of 2022 looking busy too.

All the team here at ICC Belfast are feeling inspired and motivated by these recent experiences and we look forward to building on the back of these successful events to bring more business to Belfast for years to come. The Meetings Show is one of the industry’s most prestigious business development events, and we are proud to share our state-of-the-art convention centre, and what Belfast has to offer as a city, with the global delegates who attend. We’ll be at Stand D41 along with Visit Belfast and the rest of Team Northern Ireland, and we would love to meet you if attending.

Whilst we look forward to creating new relationships, we also look forward to reconnecting with our existing clients in London. With that in mind, on 29 June, we will join Visit Belfast at Sky Garden London to update our VIP guests on recent changes at our venue, including enhanced sustainability credentials following our ‘Green Meetings’ accreditation, our sector-leading hybrid offering following a strategic investment during the pandemic, and our renewed accessibility offering including a Changing Places facility.

ICC Belfast has also been nominated for three UK-wide industry awards:

  • Venue Sustainability Award at Conference and Events Awards 2022
  • Best Conference Venue for over 1100 theatre style at Conference and Events Awards 2022 – a category we were awarded bronze for in both 2019 and 2020
  • Best Hybrid Experience Award at Micebook V Awards 2022

So that’s three award nominations, two award ceremonies all in one day!! The award winners will be announced on 01 July and we will be sure to keep you informed of the outcome.

Oonagh O’Reilly, Director of Sales and Marketing at ICC Belfast, said:

"It is fantastic to be back in London celebrating the progress the sector has made over the past number of months. We focused on business preparedness during the enforced hiatus caused by COVID-19 staying connected to our clients and our people, and have put ourselves in a position to support client needs as we look to the future.

Our ongoing collaboration with Visit Belfast and our wider network of partners continues to prove beneficial as clients seek more than a venue but a city-wide experience when choosing destinations for national and international events.

Our state-of-the-art hybrid offering allows delegates flexibility, and we’ve renewed our efforts when it comes to sustainability - now a massive factor when it comes to winning business. Being shortlisted for three awards is a testament to the hard work the team at ICC Belfast continues to put in to ensure that our venue remains sector leading and continues to deliver for our city."
