British Association of Spine Surgeons (BASS)
ICC Belfast welcomed the British Association of Spine Surgeons BASS 2022 meeting from 23 – 25 March.
This event, which was the first Life and Health Sciences event of the year for the convention centre, marked the beginning of a jam-packed 12 months ahead for business events in Belfast.
Welcoming over 350 delegates from the spinal community and 90 exhibitors, the three-day conference focused on the theme of frailty in spinal surgery.
The British Association of Spine Surgeons (BASS) actively promotes the study of spinal disorders with particular attention to the surgical treatment of spinal disease and so, their extensive programme included international keynote speakers, informed discussion and debate, large-scale exhibition, workshops and whitepaper sessions.
It’s so nice to have that face-to-face time to build relationships and catch-up with our colleagues and friends
Jamie Stojkowski, NuVasive
The sun was shining as delegates arrived in Belfast for BASS’ first in-person meeting since COVID-19 restrictions were relaxed, providing the opportunity to connect face-to-face once again and enjoy those memorable experiences and connections that can only be achieved during in-person events.
Throughout the day, delegates enjoyed world-class hospitality from ICC Belfast’s in-house catering team before making their way into Hall 1, which was transformed into a seminar space and exhibition hall. The event welcomed keynote speeches from international speakers including joint sessions with the Canadian Spine Society and moderators including local ambassadors, Niall Eames and Sam Sloan.
It’s always a privilege to welcome our colleagues from around the UK and world to Belfast.
