We’re a charitable organisation that represents all the clinicians that work with children and young people with diabetes and hormone problems across the UK. We’ve been in existence now for 50 years and this is the first time we’ve ever come to Northern Ireland so it’s fantastic to be in Belfast.
Dr Tabitha Randell, BSPED President
Our world-class convention centre provided an exceptional forum for an exciting scientific programme which encouraged local researchers, experts and clinicians to discuss a wide range of topics based around the theme ‘Bridging Experience, Learning from Analysis, Succeeding Together.’
Partnership was key to making this event successful and ICC Belfast’s expert in-house team offered a wealth of experience to deliver an event that exceeded expectations. It showcased the fantastic collaboration the team can have with a professional conference organiser (PCO) and our partners throughout the city who came together to deliver this leading-edge life and health sciences conference.
All of the team here at the ICC Belfast have been amazing with the planning of our conference in the lead up. Delegate feedback has been really positive. I think the venue is a great location, it’s nice and central, and I can’t recommend ICC Belfast enough.
Emily Winston, Bioscientifica , BSPED Professional Conference Organiser
Northern Ireland offers expertise across a broad range of life and health sciences and developing a great relationship with the local ambassador in this sector was vital in securing the BSPED conference. In line with the Department for the Economy’s 10X Vision and the Northern Ireland Business Tourism Strategy, local ambassadors play an important role in securing strategic events in focused areas, including life and health sciences. ICC Belfast was delighted to work with BSPED member Dr Noina Abid, who is a Consultant for the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, in securing the 49th BSPED Annual General meeting in Belfast.
As a BSPED member, I always thought about bringing this conference to Belfast, the people that really work behind the scenes, the Visit Belfast team and ICC Belfast team, have really helped make my dream come into a reality.
Dr Noina Abid BSPED local ambassador
The event itself highlighted the versatility of the spaces we offer in our venue whether you need a dedicated registration area, keynote presentation space or one-to-one private meeting room. Technology is at the forefront of many events and BSPED embraced ICC Belfast’s technical infrastructure to bring their event to life. Hybrid functionality including streaming and session recording allowed BSPED to share sessions post conference, extending its reach to a wider network of delegates.
ICC Belfast | Waterfront Hall | Ulster Hall Chief Executive, Julia Corkey said:
A lot of hard work has gone on behind the scenes to ensure that every space has been carefully considered to enhance the delegate experience. On-demand sessions, captured via our in-house tech using the latest 4K cameras and NDI network, will also be available post conference to ensure the opportunities to learn remain long after the last delegate departs.
Securing and successfully delivering life and health sciences events for Belfast is key to our economic development and our team pride themselves in bringing each event in this sector to life in a unique way. Belfast provided the perfect setting for BSPED to mark their 49th Annual Meeting and the ICC team were delighted to play their part in organising this conference
For all of the events that we host at ICC Belfast, it is our passion that fuels our purpose. To know that we play a part in helping to showcase the expertise and dedication of our local health care professionals, who are experts in their field, on a world stage, is incredible.
