A day in the life of our Head of Production

Head of Production Dave Young

Dave Young recently joined the ICC Belfast team as Head of Production. Originally from Birmingham, Dave made the decision to relocate to Northern Ireland to put his production expertise to use in the vibrant and flourishing city of Belfast.

Dave has been in post for one month and has already worked with some of our best-known clients including AstraZeneca and has put plans in place to fulfil his ambitions of making ICC Belfast a ‘one-stop shop’ for all event production needs.

I love meeting clients and knowing that I can take their ideas from the planning stage through to establishing all production requirements, making their dream a reality

Dave creates amazing room visualisations to allow our clients to see the event come to life from a base plan into a realised concept. Dave manages a team of highly skilled production managers who are essential for delivery. Once Dave is happy with all elements of the client’s vision, he hands this to his wonderful production team who are responsible for delivering all production needs seamlessly.

I work closely with the Business Development and Client Marketing Manager to ensure our clients brand is pushed to the forefront of their event and guarantee an excellent client journey which in turn delivers an amazing delegate experience

Dave works with a range of clients, from global Corporates to European and National Associations on all of their conference, exhibition and gala dinner style events.

Working with such versatile and diverse clients, where no two events are the same, is such a motivator for my role. The ICC Belfast values are similar to my own which was what attracted me to the position, and I am going to enjoy showcasing the best Northern Ireland has to offer

Dave started his role in January 2020 and has years of experience in various production roles in some of the UK's leading convention centres. Prior to this, he worked as a Production Coordinator for one of the UK’s largest creative event agencies. He is excited to get stuck in and further perfect our production offering in ICC Belfast.

Dave enjoys both playing and watching many sports. He also enjoys cooking and since moving to Belfast has experienced the best the city has to offer in dining experiences. A little-known fact about Dave is that he captained Team MAD to victory in Series 8 of Robot Wars.
