New charity partnership with Autism NI
We are pleased to announce our new corporate charity partner Autism NI.
Autism NI is a parent-led partnership organisation formed to promote positive collaboration between parents, professionals and individuals with Autism. After a lengthy selection process Autism NI came out on top not only matching our values but also their vision for benefiting Northern Ireland socially, economically and culturally. The team at BWUH Ltd are excited to get involved in fund-raising for the charity across ICC Belfast, the Waterfront Hall and the Ulster Hall and help spread awareness of services offered to adults, children and families living with Autism.
During the past number of years we have supported our outgoing charity partner Aware NI through a range of activities including bake sales, prize draws and outdoor activities. We look forward to continuing this with Autism NI and building on initiatives that we have already implemented to make our venues autism friendly.
The Waterfront Hall’s successful Christmas pantomime in 2018 included relaxed performances enabling full inclusion for children and adults, demonstrating the need for added awareness and services for those with non-visible disabilities.
Autism NI is absolutely delighted to have been chosen by ICC Belfast as their charity of the year for 2019/20. We are really looking forward to working with the team and raising awareness and funds within the organisation in the coming months. Sarah-Jayne Cassells, Corporate Fundraising Manager, Autism NI
Since the opening of the multi-purpose conference and event space in 2016, several varied associations and organisations have held conferences, exhibitions and meetings in ICC Belfast. BWUH Ltd prides themselves on having a fully accessible building and mix of entertainment events to ensure that all Northern Ireland demographics can enjoy any performance.
Announcing the partnership our Chief Executive Catherine Toolan commented: "We are proud to partner with a local charity who strive to support Northern Ireland with their services. The values which shape who we are as an organisation are reflected in the values of Autism NI and this is important to us. We have such accessible venues that adding another diverse level of awareness will continue to benefit not only us but the people of Belfast."
Partnering with Autism NI will mutually benefit both organisations with BWUH Ltd setting their sights on achieving the Autism Impact Award to assist in creating a more ‘Autism friendly environment’ for their customers.
