EVCOM Agency of the Year
EVCOM Promotes Creativity & Effectiveness in Events
On November 21st, guests were welcomed to the British Film Institute via a red-carpet entrance, for a drinks reception overlooking the River Thames, followed by the Event and Visual Communication Association (EVCOM) London Live and Film awards ceremonies, which took place in two separate screening rooms, allowing for an Oscars worthy award collection by the victorious teams.
EVCOM is a trade association whose mission is to celebrate and accelerate the success of Britain’s creative industries. The EVCOM London Live Awards call forward the most progressive and creative agencies working in the professional discipline today and ICC Belfast were delighted to sponsor the coveted ‘Agency of the Year’ category. During the awards ceremony, the audience were invited to view an accompanying clip of the award-winning submissions. The standard of events that have been produced by UK agencies over the past year is phenomenal, with everything from an experiential activation by Desperados held in the world’s deepest swimming pool by We are Pi, to ‘Android Avenue’ by Brandfuel; a semi-surreal urban space lined a pop-up street, the forms of which were inspired by Google and Andriod’s material design language.
Competition was stiff in the ‘Agency of the Year’ category with C2events, DRPG, Istoria Group, Jack Morton Worldwide, Top Banana and Worldspan all making an appearance on the shortlist. In the end Top Banana clinched the top spot, a fitting celebration for the company’s 20th anniversary and recognition of the outstanding experiences they have helped clients such as DFS, Primark and Kellogs to deliver.
ICC Belfast Director of Sales and Marketing, Oonagh O'Reilly said:
Passion and creativity are rife in the event industry and agencies are constantly raising the stakes in order to create unique experiences that helps brands foster emotional connections, allowing target audiences to become fully connected with their value propositions. ICC Belfast were proud to present very worthy winners, Top Banana with the Agency of the Year award. Top Banana’s expertise spans everything a client could want from venue finding to film and design and from their entry that judges mentioned ‘had it all’, it’s clear to see why they’ve had over two decades of success to date.
Following the ceremonies, the audiences of both the London Live and Film award ceremonies reconvened for a party fit for the talent and creativity that had just been recognised! Megan Urwin of Successful Event Leeds was crowned the winner of the Events of Talented final following a stunning performance and she will now go on to perform live at the 2020 M&IT awards. A raffle and auction with some great prizes including overnight stays, city breaks and sporting tickets was held and raised over £2,000 for Meeting Needs in support of Buses4Homeless. London-based caterer Benugo’s provided buffet-style nibbles for guests and dancing shoes were donned as the Young Guns DJ collective provided first-class entertainment.
Congratulations to all of the finalists and winners on being recognised as some of the best and brightest in the event industry. Click here to see the full list of 2019 EVCOM London Live winners.
