World-class recognition for local events professional
Stephanie Geddis, Business Development and Client Marketing Manager at ICC Belfast has been named as one of the top young event professionals globally.
The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) this week released its annual ’20 in their Twenties’ list. Among the recipients to receive this prestigious accolade, celebrating some of the brightest and best young professionals in the business events industry, is ICC Belfast’s Stephanie Geddis.
Since joining the team in 2018, Stephanie has played a key role in the organisation’s success, both in the business events sector and within the Waterfront Hall and Ulster Hall sister entertainment brands. Key projects include the implementation of a digital-first marketing strategy that achieved impressive results including a 17% increase in online sales growth.
Although the recent closure at ICC Belfast, as a result of the pandemic, represents a major loss to the local economy, Stephanie has worked tirelessly alongside colleagues to ensure the team’s focus on retaining and securing future business. This led to the launch of a purpose-built, Hybrid Studio. Originally created in response to demand from clients who still needed to host events despite the pandemic, there are plans underway to extend this technology across the venue. This will help in attracting landmark business events and securing economic impact for Belfast – new money that would otherwise be spent in competitor cities.
Julia Corkey, Chief Executive, ICC Belfast | Waterfront Hall | Ulster Hall, commented on the award saying, "This global recognition for Stephanie is richly deserved. In every project she’s involved in, whether it’s the design and build of a new e-commerce platform or devising client marketing campaigns, Stephanie steers the project to deliver exceptional performance. To be recognised alongside peers from across the globe in one of the event industry’s most prestigious awards is outstanding. It also reflects ICC Belfast’s ambition of becoming a world-class international convention centre. The Board, the entire team and I are immensely proud of her."
