Dave Young

Dave, an experienced event professional, joined ICC Belfast in early 2020 to build on a successful career that previously included set design, TV production and experiential event production with over 15 years within the industry.

Leading a dynamic team of creative Production Managers, a Technical Manager, skilled Technicians, and Events Crew, Dave is the driving force behind the scenes that transforms events from concept to reality, always initiating the process with innovative blue-sky thinking. Dave leads the strategic planning of the Production department, keeping up-to date with the latest industry standards, ensuring that ICC Belfast is ahead of the curve.

Having started as a technician at some of the UK's largest event venues, Dave transitioned to the role of Project Manager and Producer for creative agencies in 2016. Recognising the prevailing perception of 'in-house tech' as a standard offering, he returned to the venue space with a mission to redefine clients' perspectives on in-house technology, establishing ICC Belfast as a leading in-house technical production company.

Throughout his time at ICC Belfast, Dave gained accolades such as the Best Event Technologist award, inclusion in the list of 50 Most Influential Event Technology Professionals & 50 Most Influential people in the UK events Industry, and guided ICC Belfast to secure the Event Tech Award for the best venue offering tech for two consecutive years, as well as the Digital Event Award for the best venue providing a hybrid facility. Recently, he accomplished his studies in ILM Level 7 for Leadership and Management.

In his role as the lead in production, Dave successfully delivered major events at ICC Belfast, notably One Young World 2023, UK Space Conference, Cyber UK, Northern Ireland Investment Summit and the British Hip Society 2024. His commitment to excellence and innovative leadership continues to shape ICC Belfast's standing as a venue offering first class technical production.
