Rob McConnell is CEO and Executive Board Director of ICC Belfast | Waterfront Hall | Ulster Hall.
Rob leads our team of over 300 across Northern Ireland’s only purpose-built International Convention Centre, ICC Belfast, alongside the iconic Waterfront Hall and Ulster Hall entertainment venues. Since his appointment in 2023 as a Non-Executive Director on the Board, Rob has been instrumental in driving the organisation’s strategic direction and business transformation through his sales and solutions focused leadership.
Rob has a proven track record of scaling fast-moving businesses in both local and global markets. As a key figure in the technology community, Rob has previously served as Chairman of the representative trade body for Northern Ireland’s Technology industry, a member of the NI Matrix ICT Panel alongside a range of other critical NI economic steering groups and committees. Rob plays an Ambassadorial and support roles for a wide range of local charities including NSPCC, Air Ambulance, FoodStock, Dementia NI and the NI Hospice.
I believe that the outstanding facilities, together with the talented team at ICC Belfast and its sister venues, hold some of Northern Ireland’s untapped economic and cultural potential. I am confident that the ingredients are in place to make ICC Belfast one of the most sought-after conference and events destinations in these islands and beyond. It is a great privilege to lead this forward as Chief Executive.
