Charlie McCloskey

Charlie leads a team of almost 200 event professionals who are responsible for ICC Belfast’s event planning, technical production, operational delivery, as well as the Waterfront Hall and Ulster Hall’s annual calendar of over 300 live entertainment events.

Through Charlie’s leadership, the team is focused on maintaining and enhancing the venues’ status as being among the best in the UK and Ireland to attend a conference, convention, exhibition or live entertainment event.

A strategic leader Charlie is passionate about continuous improvement process and project management. With a keen eye for detail, he seeks to improve standards and achieve best practice - driving quality and excellent service delivery.

Committed to leadership and talent development, Charlie works closely with his team to develop their skills and support them in fulfilling their ambitions and takes great pride in their success and career development.

As a Belfast native, Charlie is proud of the city’s position as a premier business event destination and is focused on delivering an exceptional experience for patrons, delegates and partners visiting the venues and the city.

A champion for accessibility, Charlie chairs ICC Belfast’s accessibility committee, which has been responsible for improving the facilities, delivering training, and securing quality marks - demonstrating the team’s commitment to providing access to all.

Prior to joining ICC Belfast, Charlie gained significant business and event management experience working in a range of industries including automotive, education and economic development.
