Governance
We put effective procedures and policies in place to keep ICC Belfast on track and operating efficiently.
ACHIEVING STRATEGIC GOALS WHILST MANAGING RISK
Through good corporate governance ICC Belfast addresses financial management, conflicts of interest, hiring practices, and roles of Board members. Effective governance helps ICC Belfast achieve its strategic goals and manage risks by balancing the interests of the company’s varied stakeholders. Led by an expert Board of Non-Executive Directors, a multi-stakeholder approach considers the perspectives of Board members, Belfast City Council, Tourism Northern Ireland, policy makers and employees. Topics of discussion include accountancy standards, risk management, cyber security, whistleblowing, anti-bribery, and corruption. We are committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which were adopted in 2015 by the 193 United Nations (UN) member states. There are 17 goals which address economic, environmental, and social impacts, and are designed to form a blueprint for growth, nationally and internationally, by 2030. They’re underpinned by 169 targets to help define progress.

ACCOUNTABILITY
The Board and Executive Leadership Team review aspects of the workplace and are responsible for identifying financial and compliance risks across all divisions. We recognise that there are certain transactions and aspects of the work that we do which is deemed high-risk. Examples include confidential information, payments to suppliers, payments received by clients, payroll, software licensing, and travel expenditures. The Board and Executive Leadership Team have implemented safeguards and audits across these areas ensuring the highest possible standards of risk management and accountability.
As part of our due diligence, we ensure all staff have the guidance, training, and understanding needed to successfully complete their roles while adhering to workplace protections. This includes management communicating expectations, reviewing policies regularly, and providing training to their teams if changes are made.
DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY
In relation to our clients, we understand that the information which is provided to us is commercially sensitive and is shared in strict confidence. It will not be divulged to any other party unless authorised by the client.
We take the security of all data seriously and have internal policies in place to prevent data from being lost, accidentally destroyed, misused, or disclosed.
ANTI-BRIBERY & CORRUPTION
This organisation believes that bribery and corruption are unethical and unacceptable and are inconsistent with our values. The company is committed to its vision of creating a world-class stage where people make great things happen. All employees are expected to uphold the eight company values which drive our behaviours and guide our decisions. We believe all employees should act lawfully, ethically, and not tolerate behaviour by clients, suppliers or public officials with whom we deal, that is illegal, unethical or breaches human rights. We have a zero tolerance for bribery and corruption in any form.
WHISTLEBLOWING
Whistleblowing is the term used when a worker passes on information concerning any wrongdoing in the workplace. ICC Belfast have created an open, transparent, and safe working environment where workers feel able to speak up and are supported by the Board, Executive Leadership Team, and Senior Management. If staff do come across malpractice in the workplace, we encourage individuals to inform someone who is in an appropriate position in the organisation to act.
